Our Services
At Women’s Refuge Tāmaki Makaurau, we offer a range of free services to walk alongside wāhine and tamariki, providing the safety, support, and guidance they need to navigate their journey towards a safer future.
Advocacy
Our advocacy service supports wāhine to understand their rights, have their voices heard and navigate the systems they encounter while rebuilding their lives. We work alongside wāhine to identify their needs, access essential services and support, and make informed decisions about their safety, wellbeing and future.
24/7 Crisis Line
Our free, confidential 24/7 crisis line provides immediate support to wāhine experiencing or at risk of family violence. Our advocates offer a safe and non-judgemental listening ear, risk assessment, safety planning, information and referrals, helping wāhine access the right support when they need it most.
Safehousing
Our safehousing provides secure, private accommodation for wāhine and their tamariki who need to escape family violence, particularly those facing high-risk situations. It offers a safe place to stay away from immediate threats, alongside practical support and advocacy to help wāhine take the next steps towards safety and independence.
Whānau Protect
Enhanced safety support for wāhine and tamariki facing a high risk of repeat family violence. Whānau Protect can provide monitored safety alarms and home security improvements to help wāhine and their tamariki remain safely in their own homes, alongside ongoing advocacy and support.
